Old Business

DjangoCon US Travel Grants

Requested $5000 USD for travel and diversity grants. Approved by the board.

New Business

Banking

Christophe spoke about suggested alternative banks for the DSF.

Membership changes

Discussion about broadening the membership. There were concerns about the PSF model. Daniele suggests staying with things the way they are. Frank had an idea similar to FooCamp. Karen had concerns about anything with lots of overhead. Frank was going to email the DSF membership list with suggestions.

DjangoCon Europe 2017

There are two proposals: Florence (Italy) and Brno (Czech Republic). After review concerns about the Brno proposal outweigh the Florence concerns. Approved Florence for 2017 conditional on our concerns being met with additional documentation, Brno for 2018 (if they are interested) and work out a more formal process and organization in the vein of DEFNA for the years beyond.

DjangoCon Europe 2016

Daniele reported that the conference was a great success and will do a blog post to report on the conference.

Code of Conduct

Discussion about the committee and how things could be improved. Frank suggested that someone from the board could join. Christophe had concerns that the committee should be completely independent from the board. Karen felt that separation between the two is not working. Frank wanted the board to take a week to think about the issues and see if they could come up with any suggestions.

After last month Frank contacted the Code of Conduct committee and most of the members would like to continue. However, the chair would like to stand down.

After contacting the Grants committee, only a few people responded. Frank suggested we might ditch the committee. Daniele commented that it is needed for travel conferences. Frank to put out a call for volunteers to assist for the committee.
