Django Developer for Scientific Debate website
San Diego, California US-Australian university-based collaborative team needs a developer with substantial Django experience to modify and enhance a scientific debate website. The site is written in Django with a fair amount of javascript and Jquery. The overall goal is to develop a tool to help scientists to more quickly understand state of evidence on particular topics and to help pinpoint critical areas for research. The current gig will probably require 20 - 40 hours of work, but we envision a number of additional enhancements to our site over the next year or two. If you're interested, please describe your experience with Django (and with JQuery, if any) as specifically as possible (how long have you used Django? can we see examples of your work?). Please indicate what hourly rate you would expect (we have some funding for project but this is an academic collaboration and our means are limited.) The first of these apps in near beta release. All of the back end development work was originally done by the Eldarion team. The origininal front end work was done by independent contractors. The front end was not satisfactory and a third company was used to improve the UI/UX as well as to deal with bugs and enhancements for the back end. This third company is no longer available. Our situation is this. We have a few bugs and minor enhancements that need to be made prior to beta release for the first app. At this time, Eldarion does not have time to work on this project, but our plan is to use their gondor hosting solution.
