Everything we pointed at during the DSF Membership Open Space at DjangoCon US 2026, on Wednesday, August 26th, 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm in the Wolf Point Ballroom (schedule). If you could not make it, nothing here needs a login and you can still reach us at the bottom of the page. The announcement post has the details.
The Foundation, the Board, and the Fellows are one structure: the members elect the Board, the Board raises and spends the money, and most of that money pays the Fellows. The Steering Council is separate, and handles technical direction rather than the Foundation’s operations.

Working Groups and Teams
Fifteen are currently active. Every charter lives in django/dsf-working-groups, and each one is a place you can volunteer.

Teams: Accessibility, Mergers, Operations, Releasers, Security, Triage and Review.
The Board
- Board of Directors

- PR #13: Add language around voting members and affirmation. This open PR formally defines “Voting Members” as those who affirm their intent to vote each year (or voted in the prior election), and adds a quorum rule tied to that affirmed voter pool for Member elections.
The Fellows
The Fellowship is the largest thing the Foundation funds. Fellows post public reports on the forum as they work.
- Natalia Bidart, 2026 Fellow reports
- Sarah Boyce, 2026 Fellow reports
- Jacob Walls, 2026 Fellow reports
The Steering Council

DEP 0019: Technical Governance for Django
