Adrian,

Thanks for presenting Django at tonight's ChiPy meeting. I blogged about it here: http://www.jrandolph.com/blog/?p=8

Excerpt:
"""
To all Rails developers, please stop picking on PHP, Perl, Java, and .Net– it’s just too easy. Aim a little higher–here’s your real competition:

"""

Hello, django. Nice to meet you!

Ksenia July 15, 2005 at 8:56 a.m.

Just curious: is this blog also powered by Django? If yes, it would be great example to start with :)

Adrian Holovaty July 15, 2005 at 10:10 a.m.

Ksenia: Yes, this blog is powered by Django. Check out http://code.djangoproject.com/browser... for the full source code. And we'll get a tutorial up shortly.

Adrian,
Thanks for the great presentation last night at ChiPy. I can't wait for the 'Getting Started Guide' to be posted.

These links are not too helpful:

Hey, if you folks are emulating the Railers, do you plan on being as snarky and condescending as (many of) them too?

I'm counting on it; don't let me down.

Tom Joad: Sorry for those broken links! We're still working on the site in preparation for our official launch.

I'm an experienced Ruby developer and a relative newbie with Rails, but I must say this looks real nice. I've gotten a bit turned off to Python because of some terrible Python code I've had to deal with at work (yeah I know it isn't necessarily Python's fault), but this is certainly worth a look.

Competition is good, and I think the improvements that Rails has spawned for web development in other languages just helps us all move forward. I think Django will have the same effect. I also like the web-site design. So good luck.

Oh, this is great. It's an object centric framework that I attempted to create but had no time to finish. Awesome.

Adrian, this looks fantastic, I'm downloading and digging into the docs ASAP!

Super. Rails, Trails, and now Django. I love having choices. Maybe I should learn Python...
